Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out your rights and our obligations when you buy from, or use, modelverse.co.uk. They do not limit the statutory protections you enjoy under UK consumer law.

  1. PLACING ORDER
    • Your online order is an offer to buy from Modelverse. The contract is formed only when we email you a confirmation. If we cannot fulfil an order (e.g. in-stock or pricing error) we will cancel and refund in full. Kindly ensure that your delivery and contact details are correct, as we cannot accept responsibility for any delays or losses that result from misstated information.
  2. PRICES & PAYMENT
    • All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges appear at checkout before you pay. Payment is taken at the time of order. Card transactions may require Strong Customer Authentication (3‑D Secure). If we discover a pricing error we will contact you for instructions or cancel your order.
  3. DELIVERY
    • We currently ship to UK addresses only. Estimated delivery options and costs are shown at checkout. In‑stock items normally dispatch within three (3) working days. Risk passes to you on delivery. Please inspect on arrival and report any issue within 48 hours (with photos) so we can assist with the carrier claim.
  4. CANCELLATION WITHIN 14 DAYS
    • You may cancel for any reason within 14 days of delivery. Communicate with us on your return request, then return the item within 14 days using a tracked, insured service. Products must be unused and in mint, resaleable condition. We will refuse or return at your cost if the products fail to meet all the following:
    • Return Condition Standard
      1. be unused and in mint, resaleable condition; 
      2. retain their original shrink‑wrap or tamper‑evident seal intact;
      3. have all inner sprue bags, decals and accessories unopened;
      4. be returned in the original box, which must be free from crushing, tears, water damage or adhesive labels; and
      5. include any promotional items, gift or bonus parts supplied with the order.
    • If a product shows minor cosmetic scuffs or sticker residue on shrink‑wrap we deduct 10 % (standard restocking charge). If handling reduces resale value by more than 10 %, we deduct a sum reflecting the loss, as permitted by law.
    • You pay return postage unless the item is faulty or we shipped the wrong product. We aim to refund within 14 days of receiving and accepting the return.
    • The 14‑day cancellation right does not apply to paints, solvents, glues once unsealed, custom‑cut materials, digital content or gift cards.
    • This section implements your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
  5. GOODWILL RETURNS 
    • You may return most in-stock items for any reason from day 15 through day 30 after delivery, provided the product meets the Returns Condition Standard. A restocking fee of 15 % (minimum £5) is applied to cover inspection, repackaging and payment-processing costs.
    • We may withdraw this goodwill policy if returns become excessive (more than four returns, or a total value exceeding £1,000, within any 12-month period).
  6. FAULTY GOODS 
    • If any product is faulty, with respect of model kits, if (a) parts are missing; (b) sprues, decals or clear parts are cracked, warped or badly short‑shot; (c) the box contents differ materially from the product description; or (d) any other manufacturing defect prevents normal assembly, and you notify us within 30 days of delivery, you may reject the kit and claim a full refund. After 30 days and within six months of delivery, we will repair or replace any faulty products, After six months, you must show the fault existed at delivery.
  7. PROMOTIONS & DISCOUNT CODES
    • Promotions are subject to availability and may be withdrawn without notice. Unless stated otherwise, discounts exclude delivery, gift cards and clearance items, and cannot be combined. If you return part of an order and the remaining spend falls below a promotion threshold, we adjust your refund to remove the promotion’s value. Discount codes must be entered at checkout; they cannot be applied afterwards
  8. DISPUTE ON RETURNS
    • To keep the store secure for everyone we run a few unobtrusive checks, similar to those used by other reputable online retailers, so genuine orders sail through while attempted fraud is flagged early:
      1. High-value items are photographed and their serial numbers recorded.
      2. Parcels are weighed and fitted with a tamper-evident security seal at dispatch.
      3. Our payment partners apply industry-standard checks such as 3-D Secure and address verification.
      4. Returned goods are opened under camera and cross-checked against the original order so any mix-ups can be resolved promptly.
    • All returns are inspected on arrival. If we detect evidence of misuse or fraud—for example, missing sprues, swapped parts, deliberate damage, counterfeit items, or serial numbers that do not match our records—we will contact you within 5 working days and explain our findings.
    • We may withhold or refuse your refund where (a) the legal right to cancel has been abused or (b) the product is not the one we shipped.
    • Where the investigation is inconclusive, we will issue the refund in line with your statutory rights within 14 days of completing our checks.
    • This clause does not affect your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
  9. SAFETY & AGE RESTRICTIONS
    • Model kits may include small parts and sharp components. They are not toys for children under  3  years and should be assembled only by persons aged 15  years (or as specified). Some kits and accessories may contain flammable paints, solvents or cyanoacrylate adhesives. Always work in a well‑ventilated area, wear appropriate eye and hand protection, and follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions.
  10. ACCOUNTS, REVIEWS & USER CONTENT
    • Keep login details secure and notify us immediately of unauthorised use. Reviews must be honest and respectful.
    • By posting, uploading or otherwise submitting any text, photographs, videos, ratings, reviews, build logs or other content (“User Content”) on our website, social-media pages or to us directly, you:
      1. Grant us a world-wide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform and display that User Content in any media for the purposes of operating our website, marketing our products and services, and engaging with the modelling community.
      2. Waive any moral rights you may have in the User Content to the extent permitted by law, so that we may edit or adapt it (for example, cropping an image or translating a review) without further approval.
      3. Confirm that:
        • you are the creator or otherwise control all rights in the User Content;
        • the User Content is accurate and not misleading;
        • its use by us under this licence does not infringe the rights of any third party, breach any law, or contain anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene or otherwise objectionable.
      4. We may remove or refuse to publish any User Content at our sole discretion (for example, if it breaches these warranties or our community guidelines). If you later wish us to delete User Content that identifies you personally, please email info@modelverse.co.uk and we will act promptly unless we have a legal reason to retain it.
    • This licence survives termination of your account and continues even if you delete your User Content, to the extent copies have already been shared or incorporated into our marketing materials.
  11. WEBSITE USE & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
    • By using modelverse.co.uk you agree not to:    
      1. gain unauthorised access, introduce malware or disrupt operation;     
      2. scrape content or use bots/automated tools; or    
      3. post unlawful, infringing or abusive material.
    • We may suspend or terminate access for misuse. All site content is owned by Kingenious Limited or its licensors and may be used only for personal, non‑commercial purposes.
  12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
    • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the products. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.  We will not be liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business or anticipated savings, loss of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
    • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for, (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence;(b) defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987; (c) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (d) any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
  13. EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL
    • We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (e.g. strikes, severe weather, supply‑chain disruption). We will keep you informed and minimise disruption.
  14. PRIVACY
    • We process your personal data in line with UK GDPR. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
  15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
    • We may amend these Terms to reflect changes in law or business practice. The version posted at the time of your order applies to that purchase. We will give at least 30 days’ notice of any material change affecting existing orders.
  16. MISCELLANEOUS & RESERVED RIGHTS
    • You confirm you are at least 18 (or have parental consent) and are buying for personal use. We may refuse or cancel any order, or limit quantities, where we suspect resale, fraud or error. We may correct errors in price or description at any time and, if an error affects an order, will cancel and refund or seek your instructions. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach, abuse or fraud.
