RGM-89S Stark Jegan

The RGM-89S Stark Jegan is a specialized mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation’s Londo Bell task force during the Universal Century timeline. It was introduced as a mass-production anti-ship assault variant of the RGM-89 Jegan, designed to enhance the Federation’s capabilities in space combat. Standing at 19.2 meters tall and weighing 28.4 metric tons in its empty configuration, the Stark Jegan features reinforced armor and additional thrusters to improve its performance in battle. Its design incorporates feedback from the RGM-89S Prototype Stark Jegan, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient unit.

The Stark Jegan is equipped with a variety of armaments to suit its role in anti-ship operations. Standard weapons include a beam rifle, hyper bazooka, and beam sabers. Additionally, it can mount up to two triple missile pods on its shoulders, providing long-range fire support. The mobile suit also features a vulcan pod system on the head for close-range defense and can carry up to four beam sabers or grenade launchers in its skirt armor, offering versatility in combat scenarios.

In combat, the Stark Jegan has demonstrated its effectiveness against formidable opponents. During the Laplace Incident in UC 0096, a Stark Jegan was deployed alongside two RGM-89D Jegan D Types in an attempt to intercept the Sleeves’ disguised space freighter, the Garencieres. While the Jegan D Types were quickly destroyed by the enemy’s funnels, the Stark Jegan engaged in a fierce duel with the NZ-666 Kshatriya but was eventually defeated.

The Stark Jegan’s design, crafted by mechanical designer Hajime Katoki, reflects the Federation’s strategic approach to enhancing existing mobile suit platforms for specialized roles. Its combination of firepower, mobility, and adaptability makes it a formidable presence in space combat scenarios.
