RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam “Zephyranthes” Full Burnern

The RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam “Zephyranthes” Full Burnern is an enhanced prototype mobile suit introduced in the Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory OVA. Developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation Forces, the Full Burnern is an upgraded version of the RX-78GP01 Gundam, specifically designed to address the limitations of its predecessor in space combat. The RX-78GP01-Fb retains the original design’s humanoid structure but incorporates several advanced modifications, most notably an upgraded high-output Minovsky-type ultracompact fusion reactor that boosts its power output to 2,045 kW. This enhanced reactor, along with an improved propulsion system featuring four 45,000 kg rocket thrusters, allows the Full Burnern to achieve exceptional maneuverability in space, making it highly effective in zero-gravity combat situations.

In terms of armament, the RX-78GP01-Fb is equipped with a versatile array of weapons suited for both close and long-range engagements. It features two 60mm vulcan guns for close-range defense, two beam sabers for melee combat, and a beam rifle with a detachable energy capacitor (e-pac) for sustained fire. The mobile suit also includes an anti-beam shield, offering protection from enemy energy weapons. For more intense combat scenarios, the Full Burnern can deploy additional weapons such as a hyper bazooka, Gundam hammer, hyper hammer, and super napalm, giving it a flexible combat profile. The RX-78GP01-Fb also comes equipped with the Blash·XBR-L-83d long-range beam rifle, originally developed for another unit, which offers significant firepower but requires a charge-up time due to its high energy demands.

The RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam was deployed aboard the Federation assault carrier Albion to counter the theft of the RX-78GP02A “Physalis” by the Delaz Fleet. Throughout its operational history, the Full Burnern demonstrated its superior capabilities in various combat situations, including intercepting Zeon mobile suits and defending Federation assets. The RX-78GP01-Fb’s first major mission involved intercepting and destroying a Zeon Komusai attempting a kamikaze attack on the Albion. The suit’s enhanced design allowed it to engage in both space and underwater combat, showcasing its versatility in diverse environments.
