Thousand Sunny

The Thousand Sunny is the second and current ship of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, crafted by Franky and the Galley-La foremen after the Going Merry was irreparably damaged. Built from the rare and durable Adam Wood, the Thousand Sunny is a two-masted brigantine ship measuring approximately 56 meters in length, offering more space and enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessor. Its design features a distinctive lion-shaped figurehead, which serves both as a symbol and a functional part of the ship, housing the Gaon Cannon, a powerful air cannon for frontal attacks. Additionally, the lion’s mane can rotate to perform a maneuver known as the Chicken Voyage, propelling the ship backward.

Inside, the Thousand Sunny is equipped with a variety of amenities to meet the needs of the Straw Hat crew. The ship features men’s and women’s quarters, a kitchen with a giant oven, a dining area, a sick bay, an aquarium bar, and even a library. There’s also a bathhouse and a crow’s nest for navigation. The Soldier Dock System allows for the storage of various vehicles and equipment, which are kept in six rotating compartments. For propulsion, the Thousand Sunny uses the Coup de Burst, a unique maneuver that expels cola to launch the ship into the air, aiding in rapid escapes. The ship also has powerful weapons, including the Gaon Cannon, capable of firing concentrated blasts of air resembling energy beams, further enhancing its defensive and offensive capabilities. The Thousand Sunny is more than just a vessel; it represents the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey, serving as both their home and a symbol of their adventures across the world of One Piece.
