MSN-06S Sinanju Stein

The MSN-06S Sinanju Stein is a prototype mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Earth Federation as part of the “UC Project” in UC 0094. It was designed to test the capabilities of the Psycho-Frame, a technology that allowed Newtype pilots to control mobile suits through thought alone. The Sinanju Stein, named “Stein” meaning “stone” in German, was a raw prototype that demonstrated immense potential but required further refinement. It was intended for high mobility and was equipped with flexible thrusters on its legs and backpack, enabling it to perform precise and rapid maneuvers. However, its advanced capabilities made it difficult for regular pilots to control, and it was often operated with an autopilot system for testing.

In terms of weaponry, the Sinanju Stein was heavily armed, featuring a high-powered beam rifle, a shield equipped with a beam cannon and missiles, and a pair of beam sabers for close combat. It also carried external propellant tanks for extended range, which could be jettisoned when no longer needed to reduce weight. Despite its advanced technology, only two units were produced, and both were eventually transferred to the Neo Zeon remnants, known as the Sleeves. The Sinanju Stein was later modified into the MSN-06S Sinanju, which became the personal mobile suit of Full Frontal, the leader of the Sleeves.

The Sinanju Stein’s legacy continued through its influence on the development of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, as the Psycho-Frame technology was further refined and utilized in the Unicorn Gundam’s design. The Sinanju Stein appears in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, both in the novel series and the anime adaptation, where it plays a significant role in the storyline involving the Neo Zeon remnants and their connection to the Unicorn Gundam. The Sinanju Stein remains an important link in the evolution of mobile suit technology within the Universal Century timeline.
