MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame

The MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame is a highly agile mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray manga, piloted by Lowe Guele. Developed by the Orb Union, it was one of the prototype Gundam Astrays created at Heliopolis and stands out with its distinctive red and white color scheme. Unlike its counterparts, the Red Frame lacks Phase Shift Armor, relying instead on lightweight foaming metal armor to maintain its speed and mobility, a design choice that emphasizes agility over defensive strength. The Red Frame measures around 18.4 meters in height, making it a formidable and maneuverable mobile suit in combat.

Its armament includes two head-mounted 75mm multi-barrel CIWS for intercepting incoming missiles and engaging smaller targets, two beam sabers for close combat, a Type 71 beam rifle for ranged attacks, and a physical shield for defense. However, its most iconic weapon is the “Gerbera Straight,” a katana renowned for its precision and cutting power. Lowe Guele also uses a giant version of this katana, known as the “150 Gerbera Straight,” requiring specialized equipment to wield effectively.

The Gundam Astray Red Frame is also equipped with a modular backpack system, allowing it to adapt to various combat scenarios. This includes options like a Flight Unit for aerial combat or a Salvage Unit for underwater operations.
