Amate Yuzuriha

Amate Yuzuriha (天手 弓鶴羽), also known by her childhood nickname Machu, is the protagonist of the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. A high school student living in the Side 6 colony Izuma, she initially feels her peaceful life is artificial and yearns for excitement, or “kira-kira”. Her life changes after meeting a refugee named Nyaan and a vandal named Shuji, leading her to accidentally hijack the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX, a prototype mobile suit intended for Newtype pilots, after its original pilot, Xavier Olivette, crashes into her colony.

Machu becomes a pilot for the “Pomeranians,” an underground junk dealer team, and participates in illegal, high-stakes mobile suit duels known as Clan Battles. Characterized as a free spirit who refuses to be confined by social expectations, she is often seen as willful and impulsive. Her journey involves navigating the dangerous world of mobile suit combat while dealing with her own psychological obsession with thrill-seeking, which often puts her at odds with her friends and leads to life-altering consequences. She is voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa.
