Charcadet

Charcadet (カルボウ) is a small, humanoid Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX that is said to have been born when burnt charcoal was imbued with a spirit of determination. Standing 2 feet tall and weighing 23.1 lbs, it has a primarily black body with red accents on its torso and extremities, topped with a flaming head. It is a resolute and courageous fighter, possessing a fiery spirit that drives it to challenge much stronger opponents without hesitation. As it battles, its internal firepower increases, reaching temperatures of over 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (1,000°C).

A rare find throughout the Paldea region, Charcadet often forages for fat-rich Berries or the oil of Pokémon like Dolliv to maintain its energy levels. It is categorized as the Fire Child Pokémon and can possess the Flash Fire ability or the hidden ability Flame Body. Notably, Charcadet does not evolve through leveling; instead, it requires specific suits of armor to reach its next stage. Giving it Auspicious Armor causes it to evolve into the Fire/Psychic-type Armarouge, while Malicious Armor evolves it into the Fire/Ghost-type Ceruledge. In Paldean folklore, a heroic Charcadet is often depicted choosing one of these two sets of armor to defend a village from a Gengar.
