Snorlax

Snorlax (カビゴン) is a large, blueish Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, known for its immense size and habit of sleeping constantly. It is characterized by its simple, “cuddly” design, often compared to a teddy bear, and is considered one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters. Snorlax is motivated primarily by food, requiring over 880 to 900 pounds of it daily to be satisfied, and its stomach is capable of digesting even rotten or poisonous items.

In various media, Snorlax often serves as an obstacle that must be woken with a Poké Flute. It is a powerful battler, notable for moves like “Body Slam” and its exclusive Z-Move, “Pulverizing Pancake”. In later generations, it gained a pre-evolution, Munchlax, and a “Gigantamax form” that features a small ecosystem growing on its belly. In the anime, protagonist Ash Ketchum famously captures a Snorlax that becomes a reliable, albeit lazy, member of his team.
