Venom

Venom, formally known as the Symbiote, is a sentient alien of the Klyntar species characterized by an amorphous, liquid-like form that survives by bonding with a host. Originally introduced as a living alien costume for Spider-Man, the symbiote was later rejected by Peter Parker, leading it to bond with Eddie Brock, a reporter who harbored a deep grudge against Parker. This union created Venom, a “Lethal Protector” who possesses powers similar to Spider-Man’s, including superhuman strength, agility, wall-crawling, and organic webbing, while also being able to negate Spider-Man’s spider-sense.

Though initially one of Spider-Man’s most prominent and terrifying villains, Venom has evolved into a complex antiheroic figure. While the symbiote can be influenced by its host’s negative emotions like rage and bloodlust, Eddie Brock maintains a twisted moral code that often prevents him from harming those he deems innocent. Over time, Venom has transitioned from a vengeful enemy into a vigilante who frequently aligns with heroes to atone for past violence, even teaming up with Spider-Man against greater threats like Carnage. Beyond Brock, the symbiote has bonded with various other notable hosts, including Flash Thompson and Mac Gargan.
