Takayuki Yanase (柳瀬 敬之), born January 21, 1974, in Kyoto Prefecture, is a Japanese mechanical designer whose work spans anime, video games, and model kits. He first gained industry recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s by contributing to the design staff of Armored Core 2 under the pseudonym “Takashi Aoyagi.” He later returned to the series as a mechanical designer for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, helping to create its high-tech combat units.

In anime, Yanase is best known for his contributions to the Gundam franchise. He provided mechanical designs for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (2022), infusing the series with sleek, functional mobile suit aesthetics. He also played a major role in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, where his work balanced realistic engineering with cyberpunk flair. His resume further includes titles like Tenkai Knights and Psycho-Pass, demonstrating his ability to apply detailed mechanical concepts to a variety of futuristic worlds.
