Batsh the Black Knight

Batsh the Black Knight is one of the most famous Mortar Headds from The Five Star Stories (ファイブスター物語). It is strongly associated with the title of the Black Knight and is best known through Decors Weissmel, with the Fatima Est being central to the Black Knight lineage.

The Batsh has a heavy, dark and intimidating silhouette, standing apart from the brighter ceremonial machines in FSS. Its identity is not only mechanical but personal: the Black Knight image, the bond between Headliner and Fatima, and the tragic atmosphere around Est make it one of the most memorable machines in the series. Visually, Batsh emphasises broad armour, menace and knightly brutality, presenting the darker side of Mortar Headd combat in contrast to the more refined royal machines such as the Knight of Gold.
