RX-160S Byarlant Custom

RX-160S Byarlant Custom is a customised Federation mobile suit that appears prominently in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Based on the RX-160 Byarlant from the Gryps Conflict era, the Custom version was rebuilt and upgraded at Torrington Base, giving an older Titans-developed design new life on the battlefield. Its best-known pilot is Robin Diez, whose sortie during the attack on Torrington Base turned the Byarlant Custom into one of the most memorable mobile suits in that sequence.

The Byarlant Custom is especially memorable for its aerial combat performance. With enhanced thrusters, claw-like manipulators, beam sabers and built-in beam guns, it can perform sustained flight and high-speed attacks without relying on a transformation system. Its dramatic performance during the attack on Torrington Base made it a standout machine in Gundam Unicorn and a popular example of an older mobile suit being modernised for later Universal Century conflicts.
