S.S.I. KUBALKANS the BANG

S.S.I. KUBALKANS the BANG, also known as the Bang Doll or Haretsu no Ningyou, is a major Mortar Headd from Mamoru Nagano’s The Five Star Stories (ファイブスター物語). It is associated with the Holy Kingdom of Kubalkan and carries a strong temple-knight identity, combining religious authority, ceremonial armour and battlefield power.

As with other Mortar Headds, the BANG is not a simple robot but a machine-knight operated by a Headliner together with a Fatima co-pilot. Its design is tall, ornate and imposing, with long limbs, layered armour and a formal silhouette that reflects Kubalkan’s sacred military culture. Rather than focusing only on raw weapon count, the BANG’s appeal lies in its status: it looks like a holy war machine, built for elite knights and Fatimas in the aristocratic, ritual-heavy world of the Joker System.
