STTS/F-400 Murasame Kai

The STTS/F-400 Murasame Kai is an upgraded version of the Orb Union’s MVF-M11C Murasame, appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom. It remains a transformable mobile suit, switching between mobile suit form and aircraft-like mobile armour form for atmospheric operation.

The Murasame Kai is used by COMPASS / Orb-aligned forces in the SEED Freedom period. Its role follows the original Murasame concept: a practical variable mass-production unit rather than a unique Gundam-type prototype. The design keeps Orb’s clean, aircraft-influenced styling and is suited to air defence, interception and fast deployment. As a “Kai” update, it represents the post-SEED Destiny continuation of Orb’s transformable mobile suit line, used alongside newer COMPASS machines such as Rising Freedom, Immortal Justice and Impulse Gundam Spec II.
