XGF-01 Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model

The XGF-01 Gundam Lfrith Pre-Production Model is an early GUND-ARM mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE. It represents a development stage before the completed XGF-02 Gundam Lfrith used at the Fólkvangr front.

The pre-production model belongs to the Vanadis Institute’s GUND Format research programme, where medical cybernetic technology was adapted into mobile suit control systems. Its design is plainer and more test-machine-like than the later Lfrith, reflecting its prototype status. The unit appears in the context of early testing and deployment before the Cathedra attack on Vanadis.

This machine helps show the timeline of GUND-ARM development in Ad Stella: experimental GUND medical research, pre-production mobile suit testing, the completed Gundam Lfrith, and later descendants such as Gundam Aerial and other Lfrith-related units.
