YMS-07A Prototype Gouf

The YMS-07A Prototype Gouf (プロトタイプ・グフ) is a high-performance, land-combat mobile suit developed by the Zeonic Company for the Principality of Zeon as the intended successor to the MS-06J Zaku II Ground Type. While it utilizes the basic internal chassis of a Zaku, its exterior design is significantly overhauled to minimize dead weight and maximize mobility, resulting in a lighter frame equipped with a more powerful powerplant and improved cooling systems. This allows for higher ground speeds and greater overall maneuverability compared to its predecessor.

Aesthetically, the YMS-07A features a distinctive silhouette with a unique head design, chest armor, and a backpack featuring three propulsion nozzles. Because the Gouf’s signature built-in armaments, such as the heat rod and finger machine guns, were still in development, the YMS-07A is equipped with standard humanoid manipulators. This configuration allows it to carry a variety of standard Zaku II handheld weaponry, including machine guns and bazookas. Its leg armor is also notably equipped with an auxiliary propulsion system to facilitate its high-speed land movement capabilities. Typical unit markings include a clear orange visor and cockpit hatch.
