Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a 2025 television anime set in a Universal Century–adjacent timeline and centered on illegal mobile-suit duels called “Clan Battles.” The story follows Amate Yuzuriha—who fights under the handle “Machu”—as she’s drawn into the underground scene on the space colony Izuma, piloting the eponymous GQuuuuuuX and pairing up in combat under the MAV doctrine (a two-pilot, wingman style of tactics). Running for 12 episodes, the series debuted after a theatrical prologue feature titled “Beginning.” It’s a collaboration between Sunrise and Studio Khara, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki with series writing by Yōji Enokido and participation from Hideaki Anno; character designs are by Take, and mechanical designs by Ikuto Yamashita. A parallel thread involves a mysterious Gundam and its pilot Shuuji, whose appearance hints at a shifting era, while the GQuuuuuuX itself—named after the programmer placeholder “qux”—gives the show a distinctive identity within the franchise’s garage-mechanic, duel-driven tone.
