Kenji Teraoka
Kenji Teraoka (寺岡 賢司), born March 28, 1962, in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, is a freelance anime mechanical designer. He began his career as an animator at Tatsunoko Production’s training institute, where he initially designed small props and vehicles. His transition to mechanical design occurred unexpectedly during the production of Ginga Sengoku Gunyuuden Rai when he stepped in to replace the original designer.
Teraoka is known for his extensive work with major animation studios, including Sunrise, Production I.G, and Bee Train. His notable mechanical design credits in television anime include Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. His film work includes contributions to Steamboy, Psycho-Pass: The Movie, and High School Fleet: The Movie. In addition to anime, he has provided designs for video games such as Infinite Space and Super Robot Wars DD. Teraoka also uses the aliases Kenji Teraoka (寺岡 憲司) and Kenji Teraoka (寺岡 賢治).
