MSM-07 Z’Gok

The MSM-07 Z’Gok is a mass-produced amphibious mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. Introduced in UC 0079, it was designed to enhance Zeon’s capabilities in underwater and coastal operations. The Z’Gok stood out for its agility and versatility, performing effectively both on land and in water. Its design incorporated lessons from previous amphibious mobile suits, like the MSM-03 Gogg and MSM-04 Acguy, resulting in a more efficient and formidable unit.

Standing at 18.4 meters tall and weighing 65.1 metric tons, the Z’Gok was powered by a Minovsky-type ultracompact fusion reactor, providing 2,480 kW of power. It was equipped with hydrojet thrusters capable of reaching a maximum underwater speed of 103 knots, allowing for fast underwater maneuvers. On land, the Z’Gok could reach speeds of 87 km/h. In terms of armament, it featured six 240mm rocket launchers mounted on its head, two mega particle cannons in its forearms, and two “Iron Nail” claws for close combat. These weapons gave it a balanced range of capabilities, making it a versatile and deadly opponent in both close-quarters and ranged combat.

The Z’Gok’s design emphasized flexibility and mobility, with its claws and flexible arms aiding in effective underwater combat. Its success led to the creation of improved variants, such as the Z’Gok-E and Z’Gok Commander Type, which offered better performance and specialized features for elite pilots. Though it was eventually replaced by more advanced suits, the Z’Gok remains a key example of Zeon’s innovation in amphibious mobile suit technology.
