Frame Arms Girl

Frame Arms Girl is a Japanese model kit line developed by Kotobukiya, first introduced in 2015. This series reimagines the company’s existing Frame Arms mecha models as anthropomorphic female characters, known as “F.A. Girls,” blending mecha aesthetics with bishoujo design elements. Each model is highly customizable, featuring multiple points of articulation and 3mm connection joints compatible with parts from Kotobukiya’s other lines, such as M.S.G. (Modeling Support Goods) and Frame Arms. The kits are designed to be assembled without the need for painting, thanks to pre-painted faceplates and color-coded parts, making them accessible to both beginners and experienced modelers.

The franchise expanded into other media, including a manga titled Frame Arms Girl: Lab Days, serialized from December 2016 to November 2017. The story follows Ao Gennai, a high school girl who receives a Frame Arms Girl named Gourai, leading to various adventures as they interact with other F.A. Girls. This narrative was adapted into a 12-episode anime television series that aired from April to June 2017, produced by Zexcs and Studio A-Cat, with direction by Keiichiro Kawaguchi and scripts by Deko Akao. The anime was later followed by a compilation film, Frame Arms Girl: Kyakkyau Fufu na Wonderland, released in June 2019.

The Frame Arms Girl line has been well-received for its innovative approach to model kits, offering a unique blend of mecha and character design. The series continues to release new models, expanding the range of customizable options for collectors and hobbyists alike.
