Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE (機動戦士ガンダム 水星の魔女 PROLOGUE) is the introductory episode to The Witch from Mercury. Set before the main series, it explains the background of GUND Format technology, the Gundam Lfrith and the Vanadis Institute.

The story follows Elnora Samaya, Nadim Samaya and their daughter Ericht Samaya at the Fólkvangr front, where the development of GUND-ARM technology becomes the target of political and corporate suppression. The Prologue is important because it establishes the tragedy behind the Gundam Aerial, Prospera Mercury’s motivations and the wider conflict over whether GUND medical technology should become a weapon.
