Macross

Macross (マクロス) is a classic Japanese sci-fi mecha franchise that began with Super Dimension Fortress Macross (超時空要塞マクロス) in 1982, famous for blending large-scale space battles with transforming “Variable Fighters” (often associated with the Valkyrie name, such as the VF-1), plus romance and music/idol culture woven directly into the story.
