Greninja

Greninja (ゲッコウガ) is a dual-type Water/Dark Ninja Pokémon introduced in Generation VI as the final evolution of the Kalos region’s Water-type starter, Froakie. Known for its immense speed and agility, it features a signature long tongue wrapped around its neck like a scarf, which it uses to sense movements in the air. In combat, it creates throwing stars out of compressed water known as Water Shurikens, which are sharp enough to slice through metal.

The Pokémon gained significant prominence through the anime as Ash Ketchum’s Greninja, which achieved a unique “Ash-Greninja” form through the Battle Bond ability. This transformation physically alters its appearance to resemble its trainer and significantly boosts its power. Beyond the main series, Greninja is a playable fighter in the Super Smash Bros. series, where it utilizes its ninja-like attributes for high-mobility combat. In the Pokémon Trading Card Game, it is featured in high-value cards such as the Special Art Rare version from the Crimson Haze set.
