Max Factory

Max Factory (株式会社マックスファクトリー) is a prominent Japanese manufacturer established on April 24, 1987, specializing in the planning and production of figures, plastic models, and toys. Founded as a garage kit manufacturer by professional modeler MAX Watanabe, who serves as the representative director, the company has evolved into a leading industry name known for its high-quality sculpting and flexible planning.

One of its most significant achievements is the “figma” action figure series, launched in 2008, which became a representative product for its balance of affordability and high quality. In 2014, the company expanded into the plastic model industry with its “PLAMAX” brand and transitioned from a limited liability company to a joint-stock corporation. Max Factory works in close partnership with Good Smile Company, which handles the sales and distribution of many of its products, including the figma series.

Throughout its history, Max Factory has been headquartered in various locations, including Matsudo in Chiba Prefecture and the Tokyo Skytree East Tower, before settling in Chiyoda, Tokyo, in 2016. At one time, the company also diversified into the restaurant industry, operating Indian cuisine establishments like Indotei.
