OZ-13MSX2B-S Mercurius Suivant

The OZ-13MSX2B-S Mercurius Suivant is an upgraded version of the original OZ-13MSX2 Mercurius, introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Dual Story – G-Unit. Developed by OZ Prize, this advanced mobile suit was designed to complement the offensive-oriented OZ-13MSX1B-S Vayeate Suivant, creating a balanced combat duo with enhanced defense and versatility. Piloted by Luna Armonia, the Mercurius Suivant was equipped with numerous upgrades over its predecessor to increase its defensive capabilities and ensure its effectiveness in various battle scenarios.

One of the key features of the Mercurius Suivant is its advanced AS Crash Shield (Scorpio Model), which replaced the original crash shield and offered even greater protection. This shield, combined with the mobile suit’s 20 Planet Defensors—small, disc-shaped units that generate an electromagnetic field—allows the Mercurius Suivant to create a broader and more powerful shield. These Planet Defensors not only provide defense against attacks but can also ensnare enemy units using electromagnetic nets, making it highly effective in controlling the battlefield and protecting allied mobile suits.

The Mercurius Suivant also incorporates an optional Mobile Doll AI system, which allows the mobile suit to operate autonomously when needed. This system is particularly useful for large-scale operations or when human pilots are unavailable, increasing the suit’s tactical flexibility. The AI system can take over control, allowing the Mercurius Suivant to carry out missions without the need for direct pilot input, adding to the suit’s adaptability.

Tragically, during one of its deployments, the Mercurius Suivant was destroyed by the Grand Chariot’s beam cannon, under the orders of Valder Farkill, who deemed the Armonia sisters expendable. Despite the destruction of the suit, both Luna and Soris Armonia survived the attack, marking a pivotal moment in the storyline. The Mercurius Suivant, with its enhanced defensive features and role in OZ’s military strategy, remains a significant mobile suit in the Gundam Wing universe, showcasing the progression of mobile suit technology and the strategic role of defense in warfare.
