RB-79 Ball

RB-79 Ball is a small Federation mobile pod from Mobile Suit Gundam and the wider Universal Century setting. Built from space construction pod technology, the Ball was adapted into a low-cost support weapon during the One Year War. It is a mass-produced unit and is not normally associated with a single major pilot, although Shiro Amada famously operated a Ball in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team.

The Ball is equipped with a simple manipulator-arm layout and a large cannon, giving Federation forces cheap fire support in space. Although often treated as fragile compared with full mobile suits, its simplicity and numbers made it a practical wartime asset. Its round body and utilitarian construction have made it one of the most recognisable support units in Gundam history.
