RGM-79Q GM Quel

The RGM-79Q GM Quel is a post-One Year War Earth Federation mobile suit associated with the Titans and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. It was developed from the GM Custom line as a higher-performance machine for the Federation’s internal security and special forces operations.

The GM Quel uses a darker Titans colour scheme and has a more advanced frame than early RGM-79 GM units. Its design is often discussed as part of the mechanical path leading toward the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II, especially through its more refined body proportions, backpack layout and Titans development context. It is armed with standard Federation equipment such as beam sabres, beam rifle or machine gun, shield and head vulcans depending on depiction.

In the Universal Century timeline, the GM Quel appears after Operation Stardust and before the main events of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. Its presence marks the shift from wartime Federation mass-production machines to the Titans’ more authoritarian, colony-control mobile suit forces.
