YF-21

YF-21 is an experimental variable fighter from Macross Plus. Its major pilot is Guld Goa Bowman, who tests the machine as part of the Project Super Nova competition against Isamu Dyson’s YF-19.

The YF-21 is based on advanced brainwave-control and thought-control systems, giving it extremely fast response when handled by a compatible pilot. Like other Macross variable fighters, it transforms between Fighter, GERWALK and Battroid modes, but its smooth blue silhouette and high-performance control concept give it a very different identity from the more conventional YF-19. It is one of the most famous rival prototype fighters in Macross.
