Saint Seiya

Saint Seiya (聖闘士星矢, Seinto Seiya) is a renowned Japanese manga series created by Masami Kurumada, which first debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 1985. The story follows a group of mystical warriors known as Saints who derive their superhuman powers from their internal energy, or Cosmo, and wear protective armor called Cloths based on various constellations. The protagonist, Seiya, becomes the Pegasus Saint and joins other Bronze Saints like Dragon Shiryu, Cygnus Hyoga, Andromeda Shun, and Phoenix Ikki to protect the reincarnation of the goddess Athena from various threats. The series draws heavy inspiration from Greek mythology, martial arts, and medieval armor. It has expanded into a massive media franchise, including a 114-episode original anime series by Toei Animation, multiple films, original net animations (ONAs), and various manga sequels and spin-offs such as Saint Seiya: Next Dimension and Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho. Recent developments include a 40th-anniversary celebration with new action figures in the Saint Cloth Myth EX line and a sequel manga titled Saint Seiya: Heaven Chapter.
