DSPIAE ETC Decal Softener / Adhesive Decal Softener are solutions for waterslide decals, helping them settle neatly onto curves, panel lines, and surface details. They improve the “painted-on” look and reduce issues like silvering, trapped air, and edge lifting.
Choose your type
ETC-03 Decal Softener: Softens the decal film so it conforms smoothly to contours and recessed details.
ETC-04 Adhesive Decal Softener: Adds extra adhesion while also softening the decal—especially useful for older decals or decals that tend to lift at the edges.
How to use (recommended workflow)
For best results, apply decals on a smooth/glossy surface.
Cut out the decal, soak in water, then slide it into position.
If using ETC-04: Brush a small amount onto the target area first, then place and position the decal.
Blot excess water with a cotton swab/tissue.
Brush a light coat of ETC-03 (or ETC-04) over the decal and let it work—avoid moving the decal while it softens.
When the film becomes pliable, gently press/roll with a cotton swab to push out air and help it settle into details.
Let it dry fully, then seal with your preferred topcoat.
