RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type

RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type is a limited-production Federation mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. Built using spare parts and data from the RX-78 Gundam project, it was deployed for ground combat during the One Year War. Its best-known pilots include Shiro Amada, Karen Joshua and Terry Sanders Jr. of the 08th MS Team.

The Gundam Ground Type has a rugged, practical battlefield design with container equipment, shields, beam sabers, machine guns and the famous 180mm cannon. Unlike the almost legendary RX-78-2, it is shown as a hard-used frontline machine operating in mud, jungle and urban warfare. Its grounded military style makes it one of the most popular Universal Century Gundam variants.
