Mobile Fighter G Gundam

Mobile Fighter G Gundam is a standalone Gundam series set in the Future Century timeline, where Earth’s nations have fled to space colonies and resolve political control through a global tournament called the Gundam Fight. Every four years each colony sends a champion in a national-themed mobile suit; the winner’s country rules until the next contest. The story follows Domon Kasshu of Neo Japan, a hot-blooded martial artist who pilots the Shining Gundam and later the God (Burning) Gundam. He enters the 13th Gundam Fight searching for his missing brother Kyoji and the truth behind the rampaging Devil Gundam.

Unlike the war epics typical of Gundam, this show plays like a super-robot martial arts saga. Mobile suits are controlled by a motion-trace cockpit, turning a fighter’s punches and kicks into mecha techniques—signature moves like Shining Finger, God/Burning Finger, and Sekiha Tenkyoken. Domon allies and clashes with other national champions—Chibodee (Neo America), George (Neo France), Argo (Neo Russia), Sai Saici (Neo China)—forming the Shuffle Alliance while confronting mentors and rivals such as Master Asia. The series leans into bold, country-flavored mecha designs and over-the-top battles, but anchors them with themes of pride, loyalty, romance (with engineer Rain Mikamura), and the question of whether strength serves domination or protects what matters.
