HG 1/144 ASW-G-08A Gundam Amazing Barbatos Lupus brings the third-generation Meijin Kawaguchi’s crimson custom Gunpla from Gundam Build Metaverse to the High Grade line. Based on Gundam Barbatos Lupus, the main unit receives a new antenna, sharper shoulder armour and dedicated backpack components, while retaining the flexible Gundam Frame-derived articulation of the original kit.
The centrepiece is the newly moulded Amazing Booster Tenshiki, a large bird-like support unit inspired by the Mobile Armour Hashmal. It can be displayed separately, docked to the Gundam’s back to create the enhanced Kurenai Form, or partially disassembled for the close-combat Beast Form. In Beast Form, the booster’s three-pronged claws attach to the forearms and its tail blade is deployed on the included lead wire, giving the model a much more aggressive Lupus Rex-like silhouette.
The newly designed Amazing Mace switches between striking and shooting configurations using its movable foregrip and rotating/removable barrel section. It can also combine with the Amazing Booster Tenshiki to form the enormous Amazing Iron-Blooded weapon, which can be supported by the included clear display base. The original Barbatos Lupus-style Sword Mace is also included, giving the kit a particularly broad range of display options.
