From Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY, Shinn Asuka’s ZGMF-X56S/α Force Impulse Gundam joins the High Grade Cosmic Era line as HGCE #198. Released as part of Bandai’s REVIVE-era refresh, this 2016 kit replaces the original SEED Destiny HG with slimmer proportions, substantially improved articulation and a more convincing recreation of the Impulse Gundam’s modular separation-and-combination system.
The Impulse can be broken down into its component machines for display. The upper and lower body convert into Chest Flyer and Leg Flyer configurations using the supplied adapters, while the Core Splendor is represented by separate flight-form and compact combined-form parts. The Force Silhouette mounts to the included Silhouette Flyer or to the Gundam’s back, and its large wings can move to suit flight and action poses. The Mobile Shield can also be displayed in compact or expanded form by changing its rear section.
Armament includes the MA-BAR72 High-Energy Beam Rifle, the expanding Mobile Shield and two MA-M941 Vajra Beam Sabers with clear beam effects. The beam rifle can be stored on the rear skirt when not in use, while the broad shoulder and hip articulation allows deep aerial, firing and saber poses despite the separation gimmicks built into the body.
