HGIBO #006 Hyakuren

From Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, the STH-05 Hyakuren joins the HGIBO line as #06. Developed by Teiwaz around its own Teiwaz Frame, the Hyakuren serves as a versatile mainstay mobile suit for Teiwaz and its Turbines subsidiary. This standard blue-and-purple version is closely associated with Turbines pilot Azee Gurumin, and its broad armour, compact feet and samurai-inspired silhouette give it a very different character from Gjallarhorn’s Graze series.

The kit captures the Hyakuren’s unusual close-combat equipment particularly well. Two JEE-203 Knuckle Guards are normally mounted beneath the side skirts but can be removed and equipped in the hands, while the JEE-202 Single-Edged Blade fits inside its dedicated sheath for storage on the rear skirt. For ranged combat, the model carries the JEE-201 100mm Rifle Cannon, completing the Hyakuren’s standard balanced loadout.

Despite the machine’s heavily armoured appearance, the 1/144 HG construction provides useful articulation through the limbs and torso. The shoulder armour can hinge upward, and the large armour sections at the front of the thighs move in conjunction with the knee joints to preserve the design while bending the legs. Colour-moulded parts reproduce the Hyakuren’s distinctive light blue, dark blue and grey armour, with foil stickers supplied for smaller sensor and colour details.
