HGIBO #021 Gundam Barbatos Lupus

From the second season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Mikazuki Augus’s ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus joins the HG IBO line as #21. After the original Barbatos was heavily worn down during Tekkadan’s battles on Earth, it was overhauled at Teiwaz’s Saisei mobile-suit workshop using Mikazuki’s combat data, producing a faster and more close-combat-focused form. The name “Lupus” reflects the wolf-like character of this extensively rebuilt machine.

The 1/144 kit retains the exposed Gundam Frame construction characteristic of the IBO line while introducing the Lupus-specific longer limbs, enlarged shoulder armour and revised head and leg shapes. Colour separation is notably improved around details such as the Tekkadan shoulder emblems, while new movement points at the wrists and armour help the rebuilt machine achieve aggressive melee poses. The red shoulder panels can pull outward to reduce interference when raising the arms.

The standard kit centres on the large Sword Mace, Barbatos Lupus’s signature early-season weapon. Two pairs of weapon-holding hands are supplied with different wrist angles so the mace can be posed naturally in one- or two-handed attacks. The backpack also retains connection points for the IBO series’ optional weapon-support equipment, making the kit compatible with additional accessories sold separately.
