HGUC #267 Messer Type-M01 (Gawman Use)

The Me02R-M01 Messer Type-M01 (Gawman Use) joins the 1/144 HG line from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe. Piloted by Gawman Nobile of Mafty, the Type-M was manufactured on a different production line from the Messer Type-F. Although the two share the same basic internal standards, the M01 has a substantially different exterior, and Gawman’s machine is especially recognisable by its unfinished left shoulder, left in the part’s base colour when the replacement unit was rushed into service.

Bandai recreates the M01 with newly designed tooling rather than simply recolouring the earlier Messer. The front and rear skirt armour use a revised structure that preserves leg clearance while helping prevent the panels from detaching during posing, and the elbow and knee joints are designed for smooth movement despite the suit’s bulky proportions. The asymmetric shoulder layout includes the dedicated Gawman left-shoulder part and the large spiked right shoulder armour.

Its combat loadout includes the Long Beam Rifle, a compact forearm-mounted shield and two Beam Sabers. The saber hilts can be removed from the spiked shoulder armour for close-combat poses, giving the kit the distinctive equipment layout seen on the Type-M01.
