HGCE 1/144 ZGMF-103HD Lightning Buster Gundam recreates Dearka Elsman’s upgraded artillery mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM. Based on the original GAT-X103 Buster Gundam, the machine was secretly rebuilt with a nuclear power system and updated cockpit while retaining the Buster concept of overwhelming long-range firepower.
The kit uses Bandai’s SEED Action System and adds independently movable hip-joint connectors, allowing each leg to shift vertically for wider and more natural firing stances. Its pair of MA-X60S/D Multi-Barrel Multi-Purpose Guns deploy from the backpack on articulated support arms and can be positioned either over the shoulders or alongside the waist, reproducing the Lightning Buster’s different bombardment configurations.
The waist-mounted MMI-KX815 High-Energy Beam Guns rotate forward for use and employ interchangeable barrel parts to reproduce their deployed form. On the backpack, the two Type 77 Multi-Purpose Guided Missile Launchers feature opening hatches that expose the missile warheads. The completed model can also be mounted to compatible Action Bases and is compatible with the separately sold HG METEOR Unit for recreating its late-film deployment.
