FSS IMS #17 L.E.D. Mirage V3 Light Armament Version

The L.E.D. Mirage V3 Light Armament Version joins the Volks IMS – Injection Assembly Mortar Headd Series as IMS #17, presenting a cleaner and more lightly equipped version of one of the most iconic machines from The Five Star Stories.

Based on the L.E.D. Mirage V3 design from the Night Flags design book, this version keeps the machine’s key visual features, including its frame structure and translucent laminated armour, while presenting it in a light armament configuration. Compared with the more heavily equipped Delta Berunn 3007 release, this version has a more compact and focused silhouette, built around the large main bail rather than the ceremonial lance and extended display equipment.

Volks has also refined several areas of the kit for this release. The head and central waist armour use moulding developed for the earlier ceremonial specification, while the bail parts are newly tooled based on feedback from the 1/144 Light Armament Version. The main body has also been partially redesigned to improve ease of assembly.

With 543 parts and 5-colour moulded plastic, this is a substantial IMS kit aimed at experienced model builders. The base moulded colours provide a strong starting point, while careful assembly, painting and finishing work will bring out the full depth of the Mirage armour, mechanical frame and elegant FSS proportions.
