HGUC #234 Char’s Zaku II

Char Aznable’s iconic MS-06S Zaku II returns in HGUC #234 as a completely renewed 2020 kit created for Gunpla’s 40th anniversary. Rather than adding heavy surface detail, Bandai keeps the armour relatively clean and anime-inspired while rebuilding the body with modern proportions and articulation, making this a very different kit from the much older HGUC #032 Char’s Zaku II.

One of the kit’s most unusual features is the choice of two complete skirt constructions. The standard PS plastic skirt gives a conventional hard-armour finish and retains the waist weapon-mounting points, while the alternative one-piece soft-material skirt flexes with the hips to allow deeper kneeling, kicking and wide-legged poses. The new body also adds movable chest blocks, improved waist and neck articulation, forearm rotation and a repositionable mono-eye controlled by a lever beneath the head.
