HGUC #043 Rick Dom II

HGUC #043 MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II recreates the Principality of Zeon’s upgraded space-combat Dom from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket in 1/144 scale. Developed as a substantial evolution of the original Rick Dom, the Rick Dom II features revised armour, a much more prominent backpack and extensive thruster detail around the rear body and legs, giving it a heavier and more aggressive late-war silhouette.

Bandai’s HGUC kit captures those bulky proportions while retaining useful articulation for such a broad design. The front and side skirt armour can move independently to clear the legs, and the weapon-holding hands feature articulated index fingers for more natural gun poses. The head uses a separate mono-eye visor part, with the mono-eye position selected using the supplied sticker.

The weapon set is particularly comprehensive: the Rick Dom II includes its large Giant Bazooka, an MMP-80 90mm Machine Gun, two Sturm Fausts and a Heat Saber. Together these allow the kit to reproduce both heavy anti-ship firepower and close-range Zeon combat poses seen across its Universal Century appearances.
